Biography
Peruvian architect and writer. Son of diplomatic Hernan Velarde Diez-Canseco and descendant of Germans Elizabeth Bergmann Cavenecia. He completed his schooling at the Institute of Lima; Colegio San Vicente de Paul in Petropolis; and at the Ecole Lemania in Lausanne. He completed studies at the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics, from which he graduated engineer architect in 1919, and Victor Laloux studying at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. From 1920 to 1922 he held flat regions devastated by the First World War, in northern France, and worked for the firm Jacques Debat-Ponsan. In 1922 he moved to Buenos Aires, where he devoted himself to diplomatic activity as deputy civil Peruvian legation, and Washington DC in 1927 as second secretary. In 1927, he married Leonor Ortiz de Zevallos, with whom he had two children. In 1927 returns to Lima, dictating professorship at the National University of Engineering, School of Fine Arts, also worked as a professor of geometry at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru and art history at the Military School of Chorrillos.
He was a writer of short stories, novels, essays and poems that can be found in major libraries Lima. His literary work is influenced by the modernist narrative of the time. Thus we find his ideas about art in general, mainly counted humor, realizing criollada Lima.
He died 1989
