Biography
American political and business leader. A civil-rights activist and lawyer, he was also a Freedom Rider and the legal representative for Malcolm X. He was the highest-ranking African-American elected official in New York City when he was Manhattan borough president from 1966 to 1977, the longest tenure at that position. He later became an entrepreneur whose investments included the New York Amsterdam News and the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
He died on 26 December 2009, aged 89, in New York City.

The handwritten time on the original record [1] clearly states "AM" on 25 November but the numeral is indistinct, seems to be "12" which is consistent with a birth time of midnight between 24th and 25th, considering that the amendment filed by his mother states his birth date as the 24th [2].
