Biography
Canadian baby born with four arms, four legs, two livers, four kidneys, one heart and one head. At the age of two, an operation removed two kidneys from one of the twin bodies. The bodies were joined at the chest above the stomach. His Polish parents took him to Poland in 1935-1936 for surgery, but no doctor there, or in Germany, would take the case. In 1943, when he was 13, the operation to become "single" was performed at Rochester Clinic; he was there for six weeks. He recovered slowly, saying that he missed his "twin." A bright boy, he goes to school and plays the violin well.
