Biography

Peruvian painter and engraver. He studied at the School of Plastic Arts of the Catholic University of Peru, led by Adolfo Winternitz, specializing in painting. Two years after graduating in 1974, he began teaching at the School of Visual Arts since 1984 Faculty of Arts at the Catholic University, where he was appointed head teacher in 1997. From 1979 Alayza has exhibited regularly in samples single, biennial or collective, in Peru and abroad, and his work is part of national and foreign collections. In 2001 he became dean of the Faculty of Arts interim, after the death of the previous dean, Anna Maccagno. He was elected dean of the same faculty in 2001 and 2005.
