Biography
German historian, Germany's most eminent 20th century historian and the editor of "Historisch Zeitsechrit." Prior to entering the academic life he spent 14 years in Prussian State Archives, beginning his career with studies of Prussia. His first major work was published when he was 45 and, as he became older, he became more critical of the state, opposing the Nazi regime.
Meinecke died on 2/06/1954, West Berlin, Germany
