Sy Scholfield quotes his father in an interview, "BUSTER SMILES FOR THIS SCRIBE: Keaton Pleased With Success of 'Battling Butler'," by Alma Whitaker, Los Angeles Times, 29 August 1926, p. C19: "So papa told how Buster was born at 3 a.m. on one hurricane night in Pickway, Kan., when their tent was blown away..."
Penfield Collection gives a spec time of 8pm "based on his biography which states he was born between acts of his parent's medicine show." LMR can only find one biography, "My Wonderful World of Slapstick," by Keaton with C. Samuels, on which it states on p.20, "My birth in Pickway on October 4, 1895, was uneventful."
