Dutch physician specializing in internal medicine, best known for his Van den Bergh reaction, a chemical reaction used to measure bilirubin levels in blood.
In 1919 he became member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
He died on 28 September 1943 in Utrecht, aged 73.
