Biography

American politician and diplomat who served as the 67th United States secretary of state under president Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013, as a United States senator representing New York from 2001 to 2009, and as the first lady of the United States as the wife of President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001.

The daughter and first-born child of a textile company owner, she was raised in an advantaged environment with a good education. From the time she was president of her high school class, she brought home honours. Socially conscious, she was always a shrewd and capable organizer, a graduate of Wellesley and Yale Law School.

She met Bill Clinton when they were both Yale Law School students in 1971. Their intellectual partnership began during mock-court competition where their skills complimented each other. They worked together on the McGovern campaign, establishing common goals and ideologies, and they married on 11 October 1975.

They both gave up something to stay together. If Bill were simply thinking of future election, he could have married an Arkansas beauty queen instead of a fiercely idealistic Chicago feminist. If Hillary had not been so madly in love, she would never have dropped a promising career as a Washington lawyer to move to Arkansas. She told friends that no other man met her standards of likeability and intellectual power. Soon they became a remarkably effective political team. They had a daughter, Chelsea, on 27 February 1980, to whom they are both devoted.

The marriage hit rocky times in the late '80s when Bill Clinton was caught in a long-term affair. The Gennifer Flowers accusation did not come out until 1992; apparently he learned discretion from an earlier dalliance. They patched it up, mostly for the sake of Chelsea.

Twice named as one of the 100 top lawyers in the U.S., Hillary serves on 17 civic and corporate boards. While in Arkansas as the Governor's wife, she worked in legal private practice in a law firm. Her husband was voted Governor of Arkansas in 1978 at age 32. He was sworn into office as U.S. President on 20 January 1993, 11:59 AM EST, in Washington, DC.

While in the White House, there were plenty of loud fights reported, a vivid feature in their relationship. Many claim that their intimacy and affection was never posed, but that they are deeply bonded in spite of all external influences. Hillary has stood by her man in the famous 1992 denial of Gennifer Flowers, and the 1998 denial of Monica Lewinsky, both of which Bill later retracted in a spirit of contrition. Denial has an expedient place in many marriages, indeed may be the key feature in some families.

On 13 August 1998, she heard the truth about her husband's 18-month tryst with the White House intern who was six years older than their daughter, and four days later she held her head high during the public humiliation of his public admission that he had "misled people." Her body language in photographs showed her deep anger, but according to friends, she turned inward, to her spiritual side.

Her religion has always been central to Hillary and she has read widely of different faiths, remaining a strong Methodist foundation. In the following weeks, when she was asked conversationally if she'd ever had a stress-test, she replied, dead-pan, "I'm having one now."

Moving toward the year 2000, Clinton had given serious thought during the latter part of 1999 for the candidacy of running for the Senate. She had made the necessary phone calls and had moved from "Tell me why" to "Tell me why not," the only visible drawback at this time being a conflict of interest with the possible Presidential Campaign of Al Gore. She did indeed announce her candidacy in New York at 4:08 PM EST, on 6 February 2000, in Purchase, New York

On 16 May 2000, Hillary received the nomination of the N.Y. Democratic Party for U.S. senator. As Mayor Guiliani dropped out of the race for health reasons, she ran against Rick A. Lazio (born 13 March 1958, Amityville, NY.) On 7 November 2000, she was elected a new Senator in New York.

When her husband handed out 240 pardons during his last few hours in the presidential office, on 20 January 2001, some of the felons were connected to the supply of votes that Hillary won. In a statewide poll of 514 registered voters, forty-six percent of New York voters believe Sen. Hillary

Rodham Clinton did something unethical but not illegal in connection with the pardons.

The New York Senator's long-anticipated memoir, which brought her $8 million advance from the publisher, was released for sale on 9 June 2003. The book is entitled "Living History."

With the headlines “I’m in,” Clinton announced on 20 January 2007 via a video and text on her website her intent to form a presidential exploratory committee.

After a long and gruelling race against other Democratic contenders, she pulled ahead of all except Barack Obama. She withdrew from the Presidential race with a formal announcement on 4 June 2008.

President-elect Barack Obama officially named her as his choice for Secretary of State on 1 December 2008. She was confirmed on 21 January 2009 and took her oath of office at 5:29 PM EST that afternoon. On her way to a meeting at the White House on 17 June 2009, she fell and fractured her right elbow. The next day she underwent surgery to repair the fracture.

Her beloved mother, Dorothy Rodham, died at age 92 on 1 November 2011 in Washington, DC.

In December 2012 she suffered from a blood clot behind her ear near the brain. She fully recovered, and on 1 February she handed in her resignation as secretary of state.

On 13 June 2015, she started an election campaign to become president of the US in the November 2016 elections. She thus became the first female candidate to be nominated for president by a major U.S. political party. As part of her 2016 platform, she emphasized raising incomes, improvements to the Affordable Care Act and reform of campaign finance and Wall Street. She favored allowing pathways to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, expanding and protecting LGBT and women's rights, and instituting family support through paid parental leave and universal preschool. Clinton was defeated by her Republican rival Donald Trump on 8 November 2016.

Source Notes

Birth certificate in hand from Viktor E. The hour digit of the handwritten time is not too clearly read. It could look like a 6, but may possibly be a sloppily written 10. See the B.C. on the right.

Hillary's B.C.

Alois Treindl: The reading of the birth hour as 6 or 10 is not 100% clear. There are three other digits 6 on the document, which all have a rounded back. The vertical stroke in the birth hour is very straight. There is one other number 10 in the document. If it had a thick base line like the birth time, it might look just the same. After careful deliberation with some data researchers, we hold the reading as 6 for the most likely.

I have removed earlier rectifications from the source notes, as a birth certificate makes these no longer meaningful.

Previously this entry was shown with charts for the times 8:02am and 8:00pm, rated DD (Conflicting/unverified), and had the following notes:

Celeste Longacre quotes her for 8 PM.

Kt Boehrer writes (ACT online 11/2000), "I can confirm the 8:00 PM data. I have used this data for years (since before Bill became the presidential candidate the first time) and I received it from a very dear friend and good client who knew them well whose identity I cannot reveal."

However Eileen Applegate quotes an article from the Chicago Sun Times stating, "Her mother went into Edgewater hospital after midnight and Hillary was born early on the morning of October 26th."

In an article in "Horoscope" magazine, November 1998, by Frances C. McEvoy: "Mother states in article to 'Chicago Sun Times' in 1992 that Hillary was "born in time for breakfast."

Basil Fearrington relates in January 2001, "A musician friend of mine played in the Democratic fund raiser for Al Gore in Manhattan this past summer. Afterwards he got a chance to talk to Hillary. Knowing my on-going love affair with astrological data (he is a student of mine), he asked Hillary what time she was born. Her exact words were, " I know it was very close to 8 AM, 4-5 minutes before or after."

Alice Mason called on 16 January 2003 to report that she had talked to the Clinton Democratic Office in NY and was told by a helpful associate (who wished to remain nameless) that Hillary Clinton was born at a recorded 8:02 AM.

Biography: Laura Ingraham, "The Hillary Trap: Looking for Power in All the Wrong Places," 2000, has the time 8:00pm "according to herself."

In August 2005, a source who wishes to remain anonymous wrote: "I had asked Hillary Clinton whether she was born at 8 PM; she replied " I think so". Earlier I had asked her, her time of birth and she kept mum.

Dana Haynes reports that one website lists "Born at the stroke of midnight (12 AM CST) but no source was given.

The AstroDatabank website comments on her chart include an unverified claim from Zayin Cohen claiming to be quoting from birth certificate saying "I can say that I have the correct Birth Time. 26 OCT 1947 2:18 AM Chicago,IL."

In early Feb 2008 Arlan Wise wrote to the ISAR e-zine vol. 477 the following: "HILLARY CLINTON >from Arlan Wise to Marguerite dar Boggia.:I know this is hearsay, but, my chiropractor has treated Bill and Hillary when they come here (Martha's Vineyard) in the summer. She told me she had a conversation with Hillary about how they have the same astrology-both Scorpios with Pisces moons and both Leo rising. I haven't seen a time that gives Hillary a Leo ascendant but that's what she says she has. It definitely negates the 8:02 am time and adds to the confusion."

26 Sep 2016: A posting by Mark on the Skyscript forum states: "However, I corresponded with Zayin Cohen a few weeks ago. Zayin Cohen then claimed the time he had actually found was 02.08 am not 02.18am. He said it was incorrectly reported on ADB and elsewhere." On the day before, ISAR anncounced that at an upcoming conference on 16 Oct 2016, astrologer Marc Penfield will report his findings from the Illinois birth registry, regarding Hillary's time of birth. It is rumored that he will confirm Cohen's report.

Update 11 Nov 2018: In a text exchange with Patrick Wilson in August 2015, Zayin Cohen now claimed to have seen a birth certificate with the time 1:18. His claims carry the smell of 'fake news.'

On 29 Sep. 2016, Steven Stuckey writes by email: "Below is a copy of an article published in the Chicago Sun Times on Jan 17, 1993. I believe it is the long sought-after article that Francis McEvoy and others have referred to and apparently also mis-quoted. It was found on August 15, 2016 while I was researching this with the reference desk of the Chicago Public Library, that has the Sun Times on computer for many years in the past. The important and pertinent part is approximately 10 lines down where it states that Hillary's mother arrived at the hospital "early" and that Hillary was born 12 hours later. This obviously implies a PM birth and not AM, as has long been inferred by astrologers. I personally contacted Lynn Sweet, who wrote the 1993 article and she is still working for the Sun Times and now their chief correspondent in Washington DC. I spoke with her twice on the phone and questioned her about her sources on the article. Unfortunately, too much time has passed and she can no longer remember how she determined that Dorothy Rodham arrived "early", or even what exactly "early" means. Ms. Sweet did not interview Hillary or her mother for the article but she does (vaguely) remember reading the 12 hour labour info from some sort of document, which she remembered as the birth document. But again, she can provide no notes of how she came up with this data and we are not likely to get any more info on this in the future (although she said that she would call me if she could remember anything else)." [end of Stuckey email] A scan of the Chicago Sun Times article can be seen here.

2 Oct 2016: In an interview on Youtube, Marc Penfield claims that in a phone interview with an employee of the birth registry, the time 2:18 am was confirmed by the registrar. Rating remains DD until copy of BC is presented.

Update 14 Oct 2016: according to an article in the Washington Post penfield has withdrawn his claim to have confirmed the 2:18 am time via a phone call with the Chucago reg
