Biography

American singer, songwriter, actress, author, and television personality, who rose to fame as the winner of the first season of American Idol in 2002, which earned her a record deal with RCA. Her debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and became the country's best selling single of 2002. It was included on her debut studio album, Thankful (2003), which debuted atop the Billboard 200.

Her second studio album, the pop rock Breakaway (2004) sold over 12 million copies worldwide and won two Grammy Awards. Clarkson's fifth studio album Stronger (2011) made her the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album twice.

Clarkson has scored over 100 number ones on the Billboard charts and sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide, including 14 million albums and 35 million digital singles in the United States alone. She became the first artist to top each of Billboard's pop, adult contemporary, adult pop, country and dance charts.

She married talent manager Brandon Blackstock on 20 October 2013. During their marriage, Brandon was her manager. Together, they have a daughter, River Rose, born in June 2014, and a son, Remington "Remy" Alexander, born in April 2016. In June 2020, Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized on 3 August 2021.
