Ignacy Chrzanowski

Biography

Polish historian of literature, professor of the Jagiellonian University. Together with over 100 colleages from Krakow university, he was arrested by the Nazis as part of the Sonderaktion Krakau on 6 November 1939. He died in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp together with 12 others of the totally 183 arrested, while the others were released after international protests in the following two years.
