Biography
German writer.
Lena Christ was as illegitimate child. Her father commited suicide.
On 12 November 1901, she married Anton Leix, gave birth to 3 children. In addition, she suffered several miscarriages. Her husband was due to his increasingly heavy drinking on and resulting financial difficulties. After eight years, Lena parted from him, and left him with their children. On 28th August 1912 she married Peter Jerusalem.
Lena Christ became ill with tuberculosis, and fell into economic hardship. On 30 June 1920 Lena Christ committed suicide at the age of 38 in Munich.
Her life story was adapted to TV movie "The case of Lena Christ" (TV-D, 1970), directed by Hans W. Geissendörfer.
