Biography
American songwriter, balladeer, trumpeter, guitarist. As an activist, he played 250 concerts in 1980, more than half of them benefits for world hunger. He played trumpet with his dad and two brothers before moving into guitar folk music. He was most famous for his song, "Cats in the Cradle."
He directed a documentary film "Legendary Champions" which was nominated for an Oscar in 1969.
Chapin was killed in car crash 7/16/1981, New York.
