Biography
American murder victim An only son with one younger sister, he was living at home with dreams of going to Hollywood to work as a special-effects illustrator. He was a high school graduate who had held a job, but was unemployed at the time of his death.
In the wrong place at the wrong time on 7/03/1992 at 00:15 AM, he was walking home from a date when Bernard Bettle, 43, an unemployed auto mechanic, opened fire with a rifle. He was fatally wounded by three or four shots. The unbalanced gunman, whom he did not know, also fired at other people who tried to rescue Benton.
