Biography
Polish literature historian, playwright and poet. He graduated from the philosophical Jagiellonian University. In 1865 he received his doctorate and habilitation - in 1870. He worked as a docent at the Cathedral of the history of Polish literature at the School of Economics in Warsaw (1866-1867) and at the Jagiellonian University and Jagiellonian Library. In Krakow, he also lectured on the history of literature Branieckiego courses and lectures in the Museum of Science and Industrial. He was a member of the Academy of Sciences (since 1872), Secretary of the Commission Bibliographic (1873-1877) and the Language Commission (1873-1877).
He was a highly respected author of dramas and historical treatises.
He died on 13 January 1909 in Krakow.
