Biography
Belgian politician, a Walloon activist and member of the Socialist Party. He was deputy from 1968 to 1995, national minister of PTT in 1980 and minister of the Walloon government from 1989 to 1991 then of transport from 1992 to 1995 and from 1994, of regional planning. His ministry is linked in particular to the boring of the Cointe tunnel and the start of work on the Strépy-Thieu Elevator. He died on 8 March 1998 at age 70 in Charleroi.
