Source Notes

Sy Scholfield quotes from Ballot Box to Jury Box: The Life and Times of an English Crown Court Judge by John Baker (Waterside Press, 2006), page 7:

"According to a Calcutta paper, I was born on 5th November, 1925 but according to the Western Morning News — who stated they had the information by cable—I was born on the 6th. My mother, who should know, used to say that I was born at 5.30 a.m. local time on the 5th. So I always have been a Guy Fawkes."
