Biography
Jordanian-born leader of an insurgent group fighting the US in Iraq. A high-school dropout, he is credited with masterminding several bombings, kidnappings and beheadings.
He was killed in Baghdad, Iraq, on June 7, 2006 when US warplanes bombed his meeting place after months of tracking his whereabouts. He was 41.
